Functional medicine and IASIS made all the difference!

Kandise Jackson, ICT-P

Since I can remember, I’ve struggled with sleep issues, anxiety, and depression. As I grew older, these
challenges began significantly affecting my daily life, prompting me to investigate their causes. In my
twenties, a doctor prescribed an antidepressant for the first time. After just two days, I realized it wasn’t
right for me—I felt less functional with it than without it.

I relied on sheer determination, telling myself to push through because I couldn’t afford to be down or
tired with two toddlers to care for. Over time, I turned to prayer, scripture, and seeking ways to reclaim
control over my body’s well-being, though I didn’t know how to achieve it.

Despite repeatedly urging my doctors to investigate further, tests came back “normal”, leaving me
frustrated. Every suggestion seemed to lead to another prescription, each of which made me feel worse
after just a day of use. I gritted my teeth and persevered, navigating through life as best I could.

In October 2022, during what seemed like an otherwise peaceful night’s sleep, I was abruptly awakened by intense
tachycardia. Terrified, I sought medical help, only to be reassured by a cardiologist that everything was
fine. Returning to my primary doctor with the results, I was again offered medication, which
predictably exacerbated my symptoms. She then suggested functional medicine—an
approach I had never heard of before.

That’s where my journey truly began. I overhauled my diet and started taking targeted supplements, yet I
still felt something was lacking. Despite improvements, I continued to battle anxiety, brain fog, and
negative thoughts, sensing untapped energy reserves waiting to be unleashed. It wasn’t until I
discovered IASIS MCN that I finally found relief from these persistent issues.

I’m eager to meet you and support you on your journey!
